Nintendo DSi Announced!

The new DS that has been rumoured over the last few days has been announced!

The Nintendo DSi is a new upgrade from the DSLite.

• - 2.6 millimetres thinner
  
• Screens which are 17% larger (3.25 inches)
  
• No GBA Slot
  
• Two Digital Cameras (one on top and one appears to be where the MIC was on the DSLite, the MIC has been moved over a bit)
  
• Inside camera 300,000 pixel resolution (AKA 0.3 Mega pixels)
  
• Outside camera 3,000,000 pixel resolution (AKA 3 Mega pixels)
  
  
• AAC Music Playback
  
• SD Card memory slot
  
• Web browser
  
• Picture Editing
  
• Improved speakers
  
• Sound functions (pitch and sound playback
  adjustment)
  
• DSi Shop
  
• Downloadable games which get stored on the DSi
  
• DSiWare
  
• DSi available in white and frosted black
  
• Miis on DSi

• Launch games: Valk Profile DS, Kirby, Kyotaro,

My opinion: This is pretty cool. But I think there will be a huge increase of illeagal games being downloaded seening as they\'re pretty much giving us a SD Card slot, a homebrew Webcam would be awesome for the DSi. Video confrencing is a must. But then agian, it\'s a Digital Camera not a Video Camera.

Now that there is two touch screens, are we going to see any DSi only games? The GBA slot are gone, so I\'m sure plenty of people would be pretty annoyed.

Yeah true, but it's still pretty cool. A lot of people want music play back and while buying a flash card.

I would buy it, but I already own two of the original DS'.

I noticed something weird... The name DSi seems a lot like DSI a brand of footware.

DSiWare and DSI Footware... Hmm...

Did Nintendo get the legal rights for either the name "DSi" or the name "Nintendo DSi"?

Oh well, I'll just keep my old DS Lite for that.

This thing seems like a Mini-Wii with a camera. I wants it.

I think I got the battery life bit wrong too, for some reason, the less the brightness is, the MORE battery power it takes up...

Pros:

Cons:

• If there are specific DSi games, DS/Lite wont be able to play them, so
  then you're wasting another $230 on a console basically the same as the
  DS/Lite.

  It is good for people who don't already have a DS/Lite though.
