Okay be prepared fellow gamers, because this sort of thing really makes my blood boil. According to quite a few reports the Wii Zapper has come under attack… because its ‘too much like a real gun’. Needless to say, some “journalists” and no doubt politicians will soon be leaping onto the bandwagon.

Now here’s the thing, let me tell these bozos what’s too much like a real gun, because clearly they have too much brain strain going on to work it out for themselves. The answer is ‘real guns’ are too much like real guns and they are dangerous, yes there’s a leap for you. Quit bagging video games and deal with the real social issues, the Wii Zapper isn’t going to kill anyone (short of a tragic falling over, snapping and impalement scenario), it’s not going to spawn the next Lee Harvey or ordered CIA operative to sit on some grassy knoll and take out innocents. Now go do your jobs and leave gaming alone.

I definately agree with the writer of this article, it's absurd that people think the Wii Zapper is "to much like a real gun".

hmmm, interesting dilema.....

i MIGHT agree with the wii zapper being too much like a real gun, IF, it didnt have a name like "wii zapper", lets say they were to name it "wiik47" then that might get a whole bunch of people mad, and may create alot of contrversy around nintendo.............but this is just rediculous! how can you anybody this its "too much like a real gun"?????!!!!! who ever thinks this should get shot with the wii zapper on the spot!...............oh wait, its not a real gun!

im gonna leave it with a quote from the article

"levae gaming alone!"

oh...my...god...

People are always trying to find new ways to making gaming more difficult to enjoy. They say games are rated too leniently; that ratings should be stricter. Then they say that wii zapper is "too much like a real gun". Seriously, why won't they give us a break? Next they'll be saying a game with slap-stick comedy should be rated 15+ ! And the thing is, the article that WCEFan provided a quote to is right! Politicians and the media will jump on this in an instant! They'll do anything to get backup from over-protective mums who would have all violence in games in films banned completely!

yeah... this sort of thing gets to me...

Actually, bumping is when you revive an old thread that is like on page 3 or something, or a really way back page that nobody would ever look at. Since this was the top thread, I cannot see why what I did can be classed as bumping.

I don't mean to seem like I am undermining your authority, but I get touchy about these things.

Anyway just because it is an old thread, doesn't mean it is irrelivant does it?

Well, that's all.

Actually, bumping is when you revive an old topic that has not been posted in for a while, most forums' norm is about 1-4 weeks. This topic was 6 months (170 days to be exact) old.

Completely irrelevant.

Now you can. Sorry to sound mean, but that's the way it is.[/late night meanness]
